Presenting...Bullseye our hopefully faithful truck!

So here is our 2007 Mistsubishi Fuso. It's very cool to drive and has nice mod cons like power windows and heated mirrors etc. And at least if we want to excape the heat in the Northern Territory, we can just go into the back because it's refrigerated!

A little tray for when we want a picnic :)

We picked up the new tow bar today in the truck

Michelle's 21st Birthday Party

We had a fantastic night for Michelle's 21st. It ran so smoothly and was lots of fun! It was great catching up with everyone and meeting our new little cousin Eli.

Preparing for Michelle's 21st

So Chris and I decided we are going to go as box jellyfish for Michelle's zoo themed birthday party.

Making our boxes

Chris made his a little small!

Time to paint them up

I am having sooo much fun! Costume parties are fun when you have time!!!

Nearly Done

Tigerlily came over for a sleepover. Mainly because they didn't want her jumping on to Michelle's cake and cupcakes in the kitchen, which is definietly something she would do!

A very happy box jelly fish :)

So we bought a truck!

Yesterday Chris and I went and had a look at a few trucks and when I felt all hope was lost (exergeration), I couldn't go and look at any more. So Chris went out and had a look at one by himself, while I had coffee with Sara, to find it was perfect! That would be right :)

So we have to go pick it up tommorow.

Plus I found some more photos that the boys took of the weekend.

Heading back to Sydney

Well we had a day of recooperation after the show and then started our journey back to Sydney for Michelle's 21st birthday. While we are down in Sydney we have to get prepared for our next leg of the journey to Northern Territory. We are going to sell our Navara and buy a truck to take up there. This is so we can take our motorbikes and heaps of spare parts for the caravan and car. And also the fact that we are going with people who will also have the same trucks we know it can be done i guess.

Anyway, we drove to Tenterfileds and stayed at the showground which is just on the NSW boarder. And then Chris decided the next day to drive straight through to Sydney. So we were pooped for the next couple of days after that!

Eeeeek!
We have been able to park our caravan inside Laurence's warehouse so we are living Chris's dream of living in a warehouse!!! So now it's time to catch up with everyone and preparing for our next adventure. We also have been able to pick up some work from Erin and Laurence while we are here which again is always good! Why was it that the tax returns needed processing conveniently while I was here??? Ha ha ha it's all good, that's what I enjoy scarily enough!

Chris has also managed to go for a ride with the boys this weekend. Which was good, it gave me a chance to go shopping and had a movie night with Michelle and Melissa, while he had fun getting all muddy!

Down time at Pittsworth

While we weren't working, we were able to check out the show. It was quite a big deal. There were heaps of animals, trucks and tractor events, the usual cake bake offs and flower stuff and heaps of different stalls to check out. I really really enjoyed watching the Showjumping. Some people with their horse just make it look like a walk in the park. Now I know why their horses are 20k plus! I didn't get any pics of us working unfortunately. I will next time though.

This horse was so beautiful!

Look at the gorgeous little tackers!!!

These were the 25yo and under class showing their cattle. These guys are pretty important, because they are the ones who hopefully will be providing the nation with beef one day.

They are still coming!

Chris did a great job cooking burgers and keeping the bain marie's full of tasty deep fried snacks :) I made up loads of burger rolls and took orders. It was fun working together. We did that on Friday but on Saturday Chris worked in a different van. He actually worked in a "Showmans" van (which ppl usually call "Carnies"). Normally you have to be born or married in to it (and missing a few teeth) but Chris took to it like a duck to water (must be Erin's Fun Pier backgroung :) ). He worked an 11 hour day selling dagwood dogs, fairy floss and slurpies :) He also got a bit of attention from some of the guys and girls because they were certain that he was a Manly player (Sea Eagles)! He kindly put to them, "Do you really think I'd be doing this if I was a Manly player"! Anyway he did very well. In the mean time I was working in with Marcy and Jim, it was a good day. And we got some money to top up the kitty which is always helpful!

So after work, we would wind down around the camp and enjoy a lovely dinner and a couple of drinks.
Here's Chris encouraging Pumpkin's caffeine addiction!!!

Pumpkin loves coffee and coke! I don't know how he doesn't cut his tongue on the can but he doesn't!

Gary has got Pumkins rubber ring which goes everywhere with Pumpkin. He really is our night time entertainment! (Pumpkin that is!)

Our boots will take us walking...

Well today Chris was busy fixing the itinerants equipment and stuff and made a little cash for his efforts. I was busy being a little housewife making corned beef and couliflour o'gratin for dinner yummmy! And then I helped Marcy with their van setting it up for tommorow. We have been offered work for the weekend at the show starting tommorow. Eeeek. We are both so nervous because it is so different to the norm for us but it's all good, we will just do the best we can and see how we go from there.

Today I bought a pair of boots off Gary and Chris got a pair too which I didn't expect. That was a trade for work he had done though. The boots are not cheap. They start at $200 but they are very special :)

Chris's Boots

Obviously these are my boots!

I'm close to being a cowgirl :)
Well it's dinner time, so I better go and get some before Chris eats it all!

Who would have thought...

Well today we got up and had a coffee with some people we met at the show who had a big food van. They were really lovely and had some great tips for Mum and Duncan. Anyway the conversations are flowing and then somehow we were invited to join these people for a week in Pittsworth for a show they are doing! So we travelled in convoy with them. There was Aaron and Marcia (Both driving a truck with a trailer each), Pam and Kevin (Pam drove the 4wd and Kevin drove a truck with another trailer), Elaine "Mum" (Aarons Mum who looks after everyone and makes sure everyone is fed and has clean clothes etc. She is so gorgeous), Jim (who has a massive yellow and purple winnebago) and Gary (He does all rodeo and western gear). I couldn't help but giggle at the change in circumstances!

So we got to Pittsworth and set up our little compound. There is a big deal between Carny's and the normal show people. So you have to stay away from them, because they own portions of land within the showgrounds and apparently you cannot stay on their land. But anyway it's all good. So we had a lovely night chatting away and learning all about this different lifestyle. It was so funny learning that Aaron had a weak tummy, so we were all ribbing him making him dry reach telling him disgusting stories one after the other! It was so funny!

Aaron is looking for some people to take to the Nothern Territory because they have the contract to supply food to all the campdrafts and rodeos up there and also in the missions. So I guess we are sussing each other out to see if that's something Chris and I would like to do. It would be hard work and an eye opener. Especially in the missions. I don't know if I would be able to hack it but i guess we will see what happens. So that is 6 weeks away eek.

Anyway I will take some photos and post them later :)
Can you spot us in our little compound :)
