Blogging from Broome

Well I've been told we have quite an audience for our blog! I'm glad to hear everyone is enjoying it!!!

We are loving travelling, but I tell you what, it is getting harder now. We have entered red dirt country and since we now have a dog, everything is slightly turning red including the dog! We are getting a little tired of having to find a laundramat, to find our clothes sometimes come out dirtier than when they went in and having to find somewhere to fill up with water every couple of days if we aren't staying in a caravan park. It is hard being on the move, driving to the next spot, figuring out the sights to see, doing the walks, tours etc and then doing it all again the next day. But it is a fantastic experience and we can't believe it has taken us 7 months to get this far! We feel like some of it has been rushed but other parts we have stayed longer and it has been relaxing. We have got a long way to go yet to get from here at Broome around to Sydney. We keep looking at the map and sighing knowing how much driving we have ahead of us still :) There are some long distances to travel in WA, especially when you have to go across the Nullabor. Ahhhhhhh.....

So what are we doing here in Broome. Well we stayed at a free camp 100kms outside of Broome where the dog decided he wanted to be pink.

Megatron having a great roll in the red bulldust!

Where's the puppy??? Hint: He is on the end of the blue rope!

This stretch reminded us of the Wakehurst Parkway. Only thing was, it was 320kms of this, no towns, no intersections, just road!!!
Then when we arrived at Broome, there was no space at the caravan parks, so we are staying at the pistol club. It's not bad here though. Chris is enjoying himself :) We got to watch the state of origin on the outdoor tv which was fun. There are some really nice people camping here too, so we are having a ball. We met up with Sarah and Jason at the pub for the first time which was cool. We all were chatterboxes exchanging travelling stories which was halarious. We are going to go out with them and have a BBQ on the beach tommorow.

Would you believe this road is in a major city? It is being worked on but still...Red Dirt!

Chris caught this cute little guy next to our caravan.

We got to Broome just in time for the Stairway to the Moon. It was pretty spectacular.

The stairway after a few drinks :)
We went out to Cable Beach and went on a camel ride which was surprisingly really fun!
