1200kms across the Nullarbor

12/8/12
Today we conqured a lot of tar!!! We got just past the actual "town" (roadhouse) of Nullarbor. We took it fairly easy and stopped for a while during the day for a rest. The wind was so bad, it was sucking the diesel! So we thought if we stopped for a while, the wind might die down. Luckily enough it did. So we kept going. Before we left though, we saw a magnificent Wedge Tailed Eagle up close. It was so magical. Being close to such a large powerful bird is incredible! The wind picked up again at night but I am coming down with a cold so it rocked us to sleep. The whole caravan rocked as if we were a boat on the sea!

There were so many emus along the way!!!

Another day, another dollar out of the kitty. Would you believe, we spent $1456.03 on fuel to get across the Nullarbor!!! Crazy!!! Luckily we could camp for free along the way! Ha ha ha. Oh and along the way we saw a dead camel!

After a very very slow start to the morning due to being tired and me coming down with a full blown cold, we got on the road to get to Ceduna. We got in to Ceduna in the afternoon and after a quick look around, we drove on towards Streaky Bay and ended up stopping at a rest area for the night along the way.
