I guess this is lifelike |
We got in to Mount Gambier and stayed in a caravan park because washing day had come around again! With all this cold weather, washing day comes around quicker and quicker! So we stayed their the night for some domestic duties.
The next morning, we drove to the Blue Lake and decided to ride around it to try and tyre out our maniac Megatron. after all that drivning, he had stored up so much energy and was becoming very boisterous. It was about a 2km ride around te lake and it was beautiful. Mega didn't stop running next to us the whole time. I had to ride a bit faster to take the slack off his lead, otherwise he was pulling me the whole time to catch up to Chris!!!
Can you see the caravan on the otherside? |
We then drove around to the big Sinkhole. It was like something out of the movies! A secret garden! It was absoloutely jaw dropping. The pictures can only describe the magnificance!
Now you see him... |
Now you don't! |
Then it was off to Portland (We are in Victoria now). We drove through abosoloutely beautiful countryside, rolling green hills, forests and amazing buildings new, old and neglected and the coastline was so different and rugged. We went out to Cape Bridgetown and saw the blowholes and the petrified forest which was really cool. It was a nice walk with great lookouts. Then it was time for dinner, so we cooked "Maggie Beer" style with all our new products and techniques we had learnt.
Petrified Forest, you can see where the trees were! |
You see a lot of old neglected buildings like this around here |
On our way to find a spot to camp, we were driving along and saw a koala walking along the road!Chris had to swerve to miss it! So we turned around and I got out and tried to usher him off the road. It was so amazing. It's the first time we have seen a koala in the wild! The funniest thing is that earlier Chris had seen a koala sign and commented on the fact that you never see them! So we were very excited after that!
We got to our camp spot for the night and narrowly missed another boggy situation! We were camping in a forest and Chris had driven down a track (it was at night) and we came across quite a boggy section. We couldn't reverse back, we couldn't go forward, so we just had to make our own path through the trees on the left!
