Relaxing at Bitter Springs - Mataranka

Today Chris and I finally left Daly Waters and ventured off on our own to Mataranka. It was an hour and a half drive from Daly Waters and there was one small town in between which consisted of a pub and caravan park.

This is what we see for an hour and a half... Straight Road...

Ohhh that's something interesting!!! A Curve in the road!

Straight Road...
When we got to Mataranka we headed straight to Bitter Springs and floated in the thermal pools. You can flaot/swim about 100m in the warm pool and then get out walk back and do it all over again. Or you can just relax and hold on to a log or something to stay in the same place.

I can trust Chris when he say's "come in the water's beautiful"!

We then set up camp in the caravan park and walked down to the Roper River to do a spot of fishing. Unfortunately we had no luck but had a good time anyway. The funniest thing was, there was a guy with one leg who came and fished next to us and he got so close to the waters edge. I'm thinking to myself, "this guy has no chance if a croc comes up to get him"! Then Chris thought of the old saying, "You can stand as close to the waters edge as everyone else, unless they are missing a limb"...so we took a few steps back :)

What a cheeky smile :)
