Today we had a 2 hour early morning flight to see the sights of Kununurra.
The beginning was a little scary for me. I must say once we were up in the air I had thoughts of how we were going to get down. But it was a very smooth landing thankfully, thanks to our pilot Bec!

We first flew over Lake Argyle which is a huge man made lake that is 55km long! They actually had to go around in boats to collect the stranded animals off the islands after they flooded it.
Then we flew over a couple of Cattle Stations and ranges. One of them being Texas Downs station which is massive!

Now I know why they Heli Muster! |

Then we saw the Bungle Bungle ranges which is full of fragile sandstone, I guess humps, and gorges.
We flew over the Argyle Diamond Mine, which is quite a big operation. Apparently the employees get 5 star accomadation, food and facilities in return for some pretty long shifts.

Fire Bombing is done in the dry season to do a cool burn of the scrub and generally it doesn't touch the trees so that just before the wet season lightening doesn't cause huge outbreaks of fires. |

And then after a very awesome 2 hours it was time for landing. Which wasn't so bad after all :)
Then due to tending to a puppy through the night and a 4:15AM start, we had a well deserved nap!
