Back to Katherine via Edith Falls

This morning Chris and I were very efficient. We woke up and went for a bike ride in Pine Creek. I spotted two new birds I hadn't seen before. A Little Cuckoo Shrike and a Blue Faced Honeyeater, yes I know doesn't sound very exciting. But the birds here are really interesting and very pretty colours.

We drove to Nitmulik National Park (Home of Katherine Gorge) and went to Edith Falls. Well it was very nice and we thought we would go for a walk. The walk took us 2.6kms up and around the upper pools and then around the back of the falls and back. After seeing so many waterfalls, I thought seeing as the camera battery was dying i wouldn't bother taking it... Amateur Mistake!!!

The walk was absoloutely amazing!!! The upper falls were nothing like what we had seen and the view from the top was fantastic! Well there you go, I won't do that again! So in the end, I at least took a photo of the bottom of the falls so you can get the idea of what we walked around.

Anyway, after our walk, we drove into Katherine where I went to the hospital to get my wrist looked at. I hurt it in April and after a month of medication, it is still pretty bad. We waited a looonng time. And just as i got to the top of the cue, few drunk people came in with pretend ailments so they didn't have to go to lock up over night. Frustrating! But in the end we had a laugh. 1. Larry Emdur on The Price is Right got kneed in the family jewels by a contestant (by accident) 2. There was a snake in the hospital causing havoc 3. One of the Trainee doctors fainted on a patient and then there was 4. James the drunk Aboriginal it was definitely entertaining in there. Although I did manage to write down 54 bird species I have seen on our trip so far.
