I couldn't believe my eyes as we entered Darwin city... Cafe's... Shops... Civilisation!!!
It was the first time in two months that we had seen more than a Target
Country. I was so excited!
We booked in to the nearest Caravan Park and went to the RSL for dinner and to watch the 2nd State Of Origin game. The RSL turned out to be a small little outdoor area where 10 of us watched the game. It was a really good night! Chris won some money for picking the game odds and we had Hot Dogs for dinner.
The next night we moved Caravan Parks to a nicer one 15mins from Darwin. We couldn't stand city life! It was so noisy and the planes flew over every hour. We ended up staying at Oasis Tourist Park and it certainly was an oasis. We met some great people and had some long chats about everything and anything. Two of the couples were dog trainers and one was a judge that actually had to leave us for two nights to judge a competition in Singapore of all places. They gave us lots of pointers for when we pick up the puppy.
The next night we went out to explore the town and do some shopping (which really only consisted of puppy stuff). We stumbled upon a night market and had the best night ever. There was a fantastic sunset over the beach and music playing in the background. We had such a hard time chosing what to eat because there were so many different types of foods. And then we had a real dilema... we came across an artist who painted basically my vision of a painting...to buy or not to buy, that was the question. With a quick call to my lifeline, Mummy, we decided to buy. We bought a beautiful Canvas and three prints. I can't wait to hang them wherever we end up!

So anyway, we went to the V8 Supercars for three days and enjoyed the car racing and concerts etc. We ended up sitting on the hairpin so we could see the good action! By Sunday I had enjoyed enough of the cars and ended up putting my earplugs in and reading a good book. I am glad to have had those earplugs in too, because one of the displays was a fighter jet. Man was that loud!!! It gave everyone the fright of their life because no one was expecting it.

What's wrong with this picture??? (Clue: Direction of cars) |
The utes were the most entertaining for crashes and stuff.
We had the privelege of seeing Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, The Potbelleez and Simple Plan over two nights. That was really fun and a great end two of the three long days!
